SiTime’s Chorus Clocks Elevate AI Chip Precision in Data Centers

SiTime Corporation (NASDAQ: SITM) launches Chorus clock generators, offering integrated clock, oscillator, and resonator technologies for enhanced precision timing in AI datacenters. The new MEMS-based ClkSoC family promises 10X higher performance in half the size compared to standalone oscillators and clocks, simplifying system clock architecture and accelerating design time by up to six weeks. Chorus addresses the surging demand for higher data throughput and lower power consumption in AI-driven datacenters, positioning SiTime at the forefront of precision timing solutions.

Piyush Sevalia, Executive Vice President of Marketing at SiTime, highlights the significance of Chorus in meeting the evolving needs of AI datacenters. The integrated clock generators eliminate performance compromises associated with discrete product types, offering a streamlined solution for hardware designers.

Chorus, with its integrated MEMS resonator, resolves limitations of legacy clock generators by eliminating noise and impedance matching issues. It also reduces board area for timing by up to 50%, making it ideal for various datacenter equipment.

Dave Altavilla, Co-founder, President, and Principal Analyst at HotTech Vision & Analysis, praises SiTime’s innovative approach to addressing timing challenges in the electronics industry. The Chorus clock generators represent a significant advancement, offering enhanced performance, reliability, and integration essential for AI datacenters’ evolving needs.

SiTime’s Chorus SiT91211 and SiT91213 Clock Generators offer several key features, including higher performance with integrated MEMS resonator, design simplicity, smaller footprint, low RMS phase jitter, flexible frequency, and output types, reduced power consumption, excellent frequency stability, EMI reduction, and compliance with the latest PCIe standard.

The Chorus family of clock generators is currently in the sampling phase for strategic customers, with general sampling availability expected in the second half of 2024. SiTime’s Chorus clock generators represent a significant advancement in precision timing technology, addressing the critical needs of AI datacenters for higher performance and efficiency.
