Magnachip Uncovers PIMC and Multi-Channel Level Shifter to Regulate Voltages & Signals

Magnachip Mixed-Signal, Ltd. (MMS), a Magnachip Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: MX), uncovers a multi-functional Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) and a multi-channel level shifter designed to regulate voltages and signals within IT devices display panels.

These products are a result of MMS’ extensive R&D since 2019. It aims to enhance the efficiency and functionality of high-end display panels. The new PMIC integrates a built-in controller, switches, logic circuit, two boost regulators, two negative low-dropout regulators, three high-current regulators for voltage down, and two positive operational amplifiers. With I²C capability, this PMIC supports dynamic voltage management, an on/off timer, protection circuits, and switching frequency transition, thus significantly reducing power consumption.

The multi-channel level shifter, capable of managing turn-on/off voltages for over 24 channels, is tailored for high-resolution and UHD display panels, ensuring efficient voltage signal management.

For over a decade, MMS has been developing and supplying a wide range of power ICs, including back light unit LED drivers for TVs and LED lighting drivers. The quality of these products has been validated through successful cooperation with leading TV manufacturers, OLED panel manufacturers and smartphone manufacturers.

YJ Kim, CEO of Magnachip, said, “We believe the IT display panel industry will benefit greatly from these new premium power solutions from MMS. We will continue the Company’s legacy of success with product development, production, and technical support in a timely manner.”
