Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) has introduced the NeoPower NP08, a configurable power supply touted to offer significantly higher power density compared to conventional products. This latest addition to Advanced Energy’s portfolio is designed to deliver optimized, application-specific power conversion within a compact form factor.
The NP08, the inaugural member of Advanced Energy’s NeoPower family, features eight output power slots, enabling swift and adaptable configuration while boasting a power density of 18 W/in³. This represents a substantial fourfold increase in power density compared to existing solutions.
With a maximum output of 4,000 W, the NP08 is positioned as a compact power supply solution, integrating communication capabilities that support various digital communication protocols through optional dongles. According to María Cortez, Senior Vice President for Industrial Power Products at Advanced Energy, this innovation signifies the company’s commitment to offering a wide range of configurable solutions, leveraging their reliability and expertise to meet the demands of diverse applications.
The NP08 is designed for easy configuration in both series and parallel implementations, allowing for programming as a voltage or current source while maintaining low noise performance. Compliant with industry standards including the medical BF safety rating and the SEMI F47 standard, it ensures stability and safety in operation.
The power supply’s adaptability extends to its AC inputs, accommodating a range from 90 to 264 VAC. Supported by Advanced Energy’s ConnectedPower™ portfolio, the NP08 facilitates connectivity with RS-485 (MODBUS RTU), PMBUS, and CANBUS (CANOPEN) protocols, making it suitable for IoT applications requiring cloud-based monitoring and control.
The introduction of the NeoPower NP08 by Advanced Energy represents a step forward in configurable power supply technology, promising enhanced power density and adaptability in a compact package, catering to the evolving needs of industrial and medical applications.
