OMNIVISION Introduces OVMed OH0131 for Enhanced Medical Imaging Solutions

OMNIVISION OVMed

OMNIVISION has unveiled the OVMed OH0131, a new offering aimed at simplifying the development process for medical OEMs and facilitating faster time-to-market for their products.

Richard Yang, Senior Staff Marketing Manager at OMNIVISION, highlighted the OH0131’s potential to streamline operations for medical OEMs. “Our OH0131 streamlines engineering for medical OEMs, providing an all-in-one solution that expedites the product development cycle,” Yang noted. “The integration of a medical-grade image sensor with wafer-level optics, cable, and ISP from a single vendor simplifies the supply chain for increased convenience.”

The OH0131 is built on an ASIC system-on-chip (SoC) architecture, emphasizing enhanced image quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. It is compatible with OMNIVISION’s range of medical imagers, specifically those with resolutions of 2MP and lower.

Featuring support for OMNIVISION’s proprietary AntLinx CMOS chip-on-tip endoscopy imaging interface and MIPI interfaces, the OH0131 serves as a kernel board for seamless integration with various MIPI-input post-processing boards. This allows for flexibility in creating custom CCUs or handheld tablet consoles using platforms such as SoCs, FPGAs, or x86.

Equipped with advanced image pre-processing algorithms, the OH0131 offers a range of adjustments including brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, hue, white balance, and gamma adjustment. Additionally, third-party partners can leverage the OH0131’s capabilities for tasks such as LED drivers, patient isolation, high dynamic range, image rotation, image mask/onscreen display, H.264 compression, high-definition multimedia interface, and Wi-Fi output.

The OVMed OH0131 is currently available, and OMNIVISION plans to subject the ISP to IEC 60601 EMC and EMI pre-scan testing. With a compact form factor of 63 mm x 51 mm, the OH0131 addresses the need for space-efficient solutions in medical imaging.
