Microchip Technology Unveils ECC608 TrustMANAGER Integrated with Kudelski IoT KeySTREAM for Enhanced IoT Security

Microchip Technology (Nasdaq: MCHP) has introduced the ECC608 TrustMANAGER, a significant advancement in IoT security. Teaming up with Kudelski IoT, Microchip aims to revolutionize device security and provisioning.

 

The ECC608 TrustMANAGER, combined with Kudelski IoT KeySTREAM, offers dynamic management of security credentials. This solution enables users to provision custom cryptographic credentials at the endpoint without supply chain customization.

 

Nuri Dagdeviren, Corporate Vice President of Microchip’s security computing group, highlights the importance of efficient device management amid the surge in connected devices. The partnership with Kudelski and the integration of KeySTREAM with ECC608 TrustMANAGER provide a cloud-based security SaaS for seamless in-field provisioning and certificate management.

 

This advancement addresses evolving IoT security standards and regulations, automating security infrastructure upgradability and facilitating device ownership management. The solution streamlines supply chain processes and ensures compliance with evolving security requirements.

 

Hardy Schmidbauer, Senior Vice President of Kudelski IoT, emphasizes the collaboration’s significance in setting a new standard for smart device security. Leveraging Microchip’s semiconductor technologies alongside Kudelski IoT’s security services, the partnership aims to deliver enhanced protection and provisioning ease for IoT device manufacturers.

 

The ECC608 TrustMANAGER is now available, starting at $0.75 each in 10,000-unit quantities, with an activation fee applied only after the device’s first connection. Manufacturers can explore and test the KeySTREAM use case under the ECC608 TrustMANAGER, marking a milestone in IoT security and provisioning.
