Kinara, a developer specializing in AI processors for edge computing and Generative AI, has announced collaborative ventures with Ampere and Mirasys, aimed at promoting the widespread adoption of AI solutions across industries.
The collaboration between Kinara and Ampere forms a key aspect of the AI Platform Alliance, initiated by Ampere and supported by Kinara alongside eight other companies. This consortium is dedicated to simplifying systems, encouraging collaborative efforts, and enhancing the openness of AI solutions. Their collective aim is to improve hardware efficiency for AI performance, challenging the existing dominance of GPU-based solutions in the industry.
Jeff Wittich, Chief Product Officer at Ampere, highlighted the consortium’s objectives, emphasizing a move beyond GPU-based standards and an accelerated pace of AI innovation through enhanced efficiency and transparency.
Simultaneously, Kinara’s partnership with Mirasys has led to the integration of Kinara’s Ara-1 Edge AI processors into Mirasys’ platforms. This collaboration aims to revolutionize real-time edge-based video analytics, particularly in smart retail and banking sectors. The alliance seeks to offer cost-effective AI solutions while enhancing performance, reliability, and security, with an added emphasis on optimizing resource utilization and reducing operational costs.
