AiM Future Secures Series A Funding, Poised to Disrupt Edge AI Devices Market

AiM Future, a leading innovator in the field of edge AI devices, announced today the successful closure of its Series A funding round. The round secured a multi-million-dollar investment from prominent investors including L&S Venture Capital, Hi Investment Partners, Daedeok Venture Partners, KB Investments, and We Ventures.

 

AiM Future was founded in October 2020 by CEO ChangSoo Kim, CTO Jaehwa Kwak, and Executive Vice President of Hardware Engineering Jongtae Lee. The company emerged as a spin-off from the Advanced Research Lab of LG Electronics, US. With its core technology initially developed in 2015, AiM Future introduced its first consumer products featuring semiconductor components in 2019.

 

Jihae Kim, Managing Director of L&S Venture Capital, expressed confidence in AiM Future’s disruptive potential in the rapidly expanding market for edge AI devices. Jihae stated, “AiM Future has proven to be a leading innovator in the rapidly growing market for edge AI devices. The team’s expertise in delivering state-of-the-art technologies for consumer electronics positions it well to disrupt incumbent technologies.”

 

The Director of Hi Investment Partners, Young Jong Chi, shared his excitement about the promising outlook for AiM Future’s disruptive technologies in the global market. Chi noted that the breakthrough innovations in semiconductor, AI, robotics, and other industries by AiM Future would provide further growth opportunities in the AI and edge computing sectors.

 

Venture Partner of Daedeok Venture Partners, Sungha Kim, emphasized the significance of AiM Future’s specialized NPU (Neural Processing Unit) technology. Sungha stated, “NPU is already the key factor of advanced AI devices, and AiM Future is one of the leading NPU IP-based companies in Korea. Therefore, we are very delighted to have the opportunity of investing in this NPU-specialized tech-innovator.”

 

Jun Lee, Director of KB Investments, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the journey with AiM Future. He highlighted the company’s silicon-proven NPU IP, which has already been successfully integrated into LG Electronics’ home appliances. Jun emphasized the scalability and flexibility of AiM Future’s NPU IP, making their solutions highly valuable in a market where customization and adaptability are increasingly important.

 

We Ventures’ Senior Manager, Daniel H. Park, acknowledged the complexity of developing high-performance NPUs and praised AiM Future for meeting the requirements with their cutting-edge technology. Daniel emphasized that AiM Future possesses expertise in hardware design, software optimization, and deep learning algorithms.

 

ChangSoo Kim, Chief Executive Officer of AiM Future, expressed his happiness in securing the series-A funding amidst turbulent economic conditions. ChangSoo acknowledged the support of prominent investors in the AI and semiconductor sectors, highlighting their contributions to accelerating the company’s growth in terms of team expansion and technology portfolio. He stated, “The proceeds will be deployed to hiring world-class talent and producing test silicon of our next-generation architecture.”
