Intel's Latest Core 14th Gen Reshapes the Future

At CES 2024, Intel made headlines by introducing a comprehensive range of high-level compute solutions with its full Intel Core 14th Gen mobile and desktop processor lineup. This unveiling showcased powerful additions such as the HX-series mobile processors and mainstream 65-watt and 35-watt desktop processors, setting a new standard for computing capabilities across multiple platforms.

Roger Chandler, Intel’s Vice President and General Manager of Enthusiast PC and Workstations in the Client Computing Group, highlighted the immense capabilities of the new Intel Core 14th Gen processors. “Our Intel Core 14th Gen processor family is engineered to deliver unparalleled performance and robust platform features, catering to both enthusiasts and mainstream PC users,” remarked Chandler, emphasizing the processors’ dynamic potential.

The pinnacle of innovation, the Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors, is designed for gamers, creators, and professionals who demand superior performance combined with the flexibility of mobile computing. The flagship Intel Core i9-14900HX leads this series, boasting eight performance cores (P-cores) and 16 efficient cores (E-cores), providing outstanding connectivity and delivering exceptional single- and multi-thread performance.

The HX-series processors are packed with cutting-edge features, including turbo frequencies reaching up to 5.8 GHz, offering up to 17% enhanced gaming performance and a remarkable 51% boost in multitasking performance compared to competitors. These processors support up to 192 gigabytes (GB) of DDR5-5600 memory and boast Thunderbolt™ 5 connectivity, delivering 80 gigabits per second (Gbps) bandwidth, alongside advanced wireless capabilities such as Intel® Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

Complementing the HX-series, Intel introduced the Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors, featuring up to 24 cores (eight P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads in its i9-14900 models. These processors retain compatibility with existing Intel 600- and 700-series-based motherboards, offering next-generation wireless connectivity and support for PCIe Gen 5.0, providing a robust computing experience for diverse user needs.

Simultaneously, Intel unveiled the Intel Core U Processor Series 1, targeting thin-and-light mobile systems. The Series 1 lineup, featuring the Intel Core 7 processor 150U, offers turbo frequencies up to 5.4 GHz, up to 10 cores (two P-cores, eight E-cores), and up to 96 GB of DDR5-5200 memory, catering to users seeking efficient yet powerful performance in their mobile devices.

These cutting-edge processors are set to redefine computing experiences, with mobile systems equipped with the Intel Core U Processor Series 1 expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024.
