Luna Innovations (NASDAQ: LUNA), a global leader in advanced fiber optic-based technology, has announced the appointment of Thomas Oldemeyer as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. This strategic move aims to strengthen Luna’s presence and expand its fiber optic sensing business across Europe.
In his new role, Oldemeyer will report directly to Luna’s CEO, Scott A. Graeff, and will be responsible for spearheading the growth and development of the company’s European fiber optic sensing operations. With over 30 years of industry experience, including nearly 12 years as CEO of LIOS Technology, Oldemeyer brings a wealth of knowledge to Luna. During his tenure at LIOS, he played a pivotal role in the development, production, and global sales of fiber optic distributed temperature sensors for diverse applications, such as industrial monitoring, power cable management, oil and gas, and fire detection. Following the transition to its parent company, NKT Photonics Technology (NKT), Oldemeyer was entrusted with establishing the Aerospace and Defense division.
