Diodes Incorporated has launched its first automotive-compliant dual-channel high-side power switches—ZXMS82090S14PQ, ZXMS82120S14PQ, and ZXMS82180S14PQ—expanding its IntelliFET self-protected MOSFET portfolio. These switches are designed for 12V automotive loads, including LEDs, bulbs, actuators, and motors in body control and lighting systems.
The switches feature a dual 41V-rated n-channel MOSFET array with built-in circuitry to protect against short circuits, manage inrush currents, and safeguard against overvoltage conditions, including load dumps. They also offer overtemperature protection with auto-restart and protection against electrostatic discharge damage. Loss of ground and reverse polarity protection can be implemented with external components.
A dedicated current sense pin provides precise analog current monitoring of outputs, offering fault indication for short-to-battery, short-to-ground, and open-load detection. These IntelliFETs serve as smaller footprint alternatives to relays, fuses, and discrete circuits, providing efficiency and reliability. They are designed as form, fit, and functional equivalents for existing power switch devices.
Qualified to AEC-Q100 standards, manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities, and supporting PPAP documentation, the switches come in a thermally efficient SO-14EP package and are available at $1.37 in 2,500 piece quantities. The competitive pricing, coupled with robust features, positions the IntelliFETs as a compelling choice for automotive applications.
