Sion Power Corporation and MB ATECH, a member of the Muhlbauer Group, have joined forces to pioneer the development of an automated manufacturing line for lithium metal cells, aiming to propel advancements in electric vehicle (EV) battery technology.
This collaborative effort underscores the growing demand for high-performance batteries capable of addressing range anxiety and enhancing energy utilization in EVs. The fully automated manufacturing line, once operational, is projected to produce an impressive 75MWh of 56 Ah lithium metal cells annually, a significant leap forward in battery production capacity.
Sion Power’s proprietary Licerion technology lies at the heart of this initiative, offering a promising alternative to conventional lithium-ion cells. By leveraging Licerion’s innovative design, the partnership seeks to deliver robust and reliable lithium metal cells to automotive OEMs, cell manufacturers, and other stakeholders in the EV industry.
