Silvaco Group, Inc., a provider of TCAD, EDA software, and SIP solutions, has announced an expanded partnership with Micron Technology, Inc. This collaboration aims to advance semiconductor design and optimize wafer fabrication processes through AI-driven solutions.
The partnership entails the broadening of Silvaco’s software license and support services to Micron, extending the scope and duration of their collaboration. Micron has also committed a $5.0 million investment in Silvaco, reflecting their shared commitment to innovation in semiconductor technologies.
The investment will primarily support the development of Silvaco’s FTCO digital twin modeling tools, leveraging machine learning to simulate the wafer fabrication process. This technology enables cost-effective experimentation and optimization of wafer yield, without the need for physical prototypes.
Dr. Babak Taheri, CEO of Silvaco, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Micron underscores our dedication to advancing semiconductor design and manufacturing.”
