Samsung E.D.G.E. Campus Program Won By IIT Madras

Samsung concluded its 6th edition of Samsung E.D.G.E., in Gurugram, India, with over 5000 students from 20 top institutions participating in the pan-India campus program. Team AKR Menders from IIT Madras constituting Raghav Talwar, Abhinav Nahata and Kush Ganatra, bag the first prize.

 

Team AKR Menders presents an innovative solution to optimize each step of the user journey in the context of a Direct to Consumer (D2C) business using AI recommendations, AR/VR, IoT and QR Code integration. This idea is what impressed the jury and won them a cash prize of Rs 400000 and Samsung’s flagship smartphones.

 

Team Purple of ISB Hydrabad came second and won a cash prize of Rs 200000 and pre-placement interviews with Samsung. They presented the solution for D2C business that integrated a customer’s journey in an offline store with online. 

 

 Team Trifecta of FMS Delhi stood third for presenting a solution to smoothen the journey of a consumer and provide an end-to-end experience, which awarded them with a cash prize of Rs 100000.

Samsung E.D.G.E. started in 2016, is a nationwide platform that provides thousands of brilliant minds from top B-schools, Engineering and Design Institutes to come together and provide distinctive solutions to real-time challenges. It gives an opportunity to showcase their business acumen, strategic thinking and leadership skill, and to exhibit their talents, exchange meaningful insights and get a head-start in their careers. 

 

The program was conducted in 2 months with a rigorous evaluation of three rounds. Over 1700 teams from 20 colleges participated. Nine teams were shortlisted and mentored by Samsung’s leaders to battle it out for the top three in the national round this year.
