In a strategic move to address the ongoing demand for reliable and legacy-compatible NAND storage solutions, Rochester Electronics, LLC has embarked on a partnership with SkyHigh Memory Ltd. This collaboration sets the stage for an unbroken supply chain of low-density, mature NAND storage products, catering to the evolving needs of customers across the globe.

Rochester Electronics, renowned for its expertise in authorized legacy and end-of-life (EOL) semiconductor technologies, has joined forces with SkyHigh Memory, a key player specializing in NAND storage solutions, particularly in the fields of Single-Level Cell (SLC) and embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) technologies. With their complementary strengths, these industry leaders are poised to offer seamless and continuous support for customers seeking dependable storage solutions.

One of the prime areas of focus for this partnership lies in serving the demand for storage solutions that align with existing designs featuring End-of-Life microprocessors. As technology landscapes shift and evolve, these designs may still rely on low-density storage capabilities, making them an ideal match for SkyHigh Memory’s range of SLC NAND products spanning from 1Gb to 8Gb, as well as their 4GB eMMC offerings. These well-matured densities can now be harmoniously complemented by Rochester’s core microprocessor components, ensuring a cohesive and consistent supply.

Paul Mason, Global Director of Memory Technology at Rochester Electronics, underlined the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with SkyHigh Memory bolsters Rochester Electronics’ customer base and offerings with a continuity of supply in low-density mature NAND storage solutions. Memory longevity is achieved alongside legacy microprocessor technology.”

This venture also allows both companies to play to their respective strengths. Rochester Electronics brings its time-tested prowess in the management and support of legacy and EOL devices, particularly within the microprocessor domain. SkyHigh Memory, on the other hand, boasts a rich portfolio of mature SLC NAND and eMMC storage solutions. The partnership aims to capitalize on these strengths, providing customers with a seamless transition and consistent availability of essential storage components.

Alexander Stempfle, Director of Supplier Development – EMEA at Rochester Electronics, emphasized the compatibility between the two entities, stating, “Rochester Electronics’ strengths in managing and supporting legacy and EOL devices, particularly in the realm of microprocessors align with SkyHigh Memory’s mature SLC NAND and eMMC storage solutions. By partnering together, we can offer our customers seamless continuity for their NAND storage needs.”

Yildirim Vural, Sales Director – Central & Eastern Europe at SkyHigh Memory, echoed the sentiment of anticipation for this partnership, expressing, “We are looking forward to a strong partnership with Rochester Electronics to increase the service provided to our customers globally.”

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the Rochester Electronics and SkyHigh Memory collaboration promises to be a beacon of stability and reliability for those seeking sustainable storage solutions, ensuring that even in the realm of rapidly advancing technology, the foundation of dependable and mature storage remains unwavering.
