handshake

Orange Business and VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) have announced a strategic collaboration to streamline their partnership and introduce Flexible SD-WAN with VMware as the inaugural fully embedded SD-WAN offering in the Evolution Platform. The Evolution Platform, designed by Orange Business, merges a secure digital infrastructure with a nimble cloud approach to streamline the ordering and management of services for enterprise customers.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, the cloud has become the benchmark for customer experience. Performance and trust are now fundamental expectations, with innovation serving as the driving force behind customers’ transformation strategies. Orange Business is reshaping its service delivery model by offering the latest services from its ecosystem of partners in a native and digital format through the Evolution Platform. This platform empowers enterprise customers to customize their blend of services to adapt to their evolving business needs while leveraging the exceptional performance of Orange’s world-class infrastructure and global expertise.

Through the Evolution Platform, enterprises can access a comprehensive product catalog, including Flexible SD-WAN with VMware, either via a self-service console or an API. The platform incorporates automation and service chaining, simplifying the management of the customer’s entire digital infrastructure. It ensures secured user-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud connectivity, as well as voice services, while providing end-to-end visibility and service guarantees.

Flexible SD-WAN with VMware caters to the demands of modern, highly distributed workloads, applications, and devices at the edge. It offers advanced automation capabilities and delivers an optimal user experience when accessing remote applications. This leads to a significant boost in employee productivity, as organizations can deploy sites more rapidly, utilizing technologies like 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, or satellite for challenging locations. Edge devices are auto-provisioned, reducing IT costs and deployment timelines.

Customers of Orange Business utilizing Flexible SD-WAN with VMware via the Evolution Platform will benefit from a global network of Super Points of Presence (PoPs). These strategically located Super PoPs on the Orange Tier 1 global backbone, near customers and cloud providers, substantially decrease latency for applications and services. Additionally, they enhance business agility, addressing the critical need for low-latency connectivity.

Jean-Noël Michel, Vice President of Communication Services at Orange Business, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “In today’s digital-first business environment, the demand for a resilient, adaptable, and secure network infrastructure has never been more critical. We welcome VMware on board the Evolution Platform. Its SD-WAN offering will provide our customers with choice and interoperability, enabling them to build the ideal network for their business.”

Sanjay Uppal, Senior Vice President, and General Manager of Service Provider and Edge at VMware, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We’re excited to bring the flexibility and enhanced performance of VMware SD-WAN to the Evolution Platform by Orange Business. As a key element of our software-defined edge portfolio, SD-WAN allows organizations to modernize their digital infrastructure and monetize their network overlays by reducing networking infrastructure, providing zero trust and zero-touch pull-based capabilities and network programmability. Together with Orange Business, we will provide a more secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity to organizations of all sizes across all industries.”
