Japanese MNC Kioxia Corporation, which offers memory solutions, has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award in the “Product Design 2025” category for its EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series. The award, which honors excellence in product design, will be presented on July 8 in Essen, Germany.
The EXCERIA PLUS G2 was recognized by an international jury for its minimalist design, durable aluminum housing, and seamless construction with no visible screws. The device also incorporates features for effective heat dissipation and impact resistance, contributing to both form and function. The SSD series had previously received Japan’s GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2024.
Headquartered in Japan, Kioxia is a prominent developer and manufacturer of flash memory and solid-state drives (SSDs). The company was established in 2017 following the spin-off of Toshiba Memory, the inventor of NAND flash memory in 1987. Kioxia’s technological innovations, including its proprietary BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory, are widely used in applications such as smartphones, PCs, automotive systems, data centers, and AI infrastructure.
