ISE Labs Chooses Advantest’s V93000 EXA Scale for Enhanced Production Testing

Advantest V93000 EXA Scale

Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857), a prominent semiconductor test equipment supplier, has revealed the procurement of their V93000 EXA Scale SoC Test System by ISE Labs, based in Fremont, California. This acquisition sees the EXA Scale system complementing ISE Labs’ existing V93000 systems, enhancing their production test services for a spectrum of devices, including digital, mixed-signal, analog, RF, and SoC, across various test platforms.

ISE Labs plans to integrate the new EXA Scale system, equipped with Advantest’s latest Pin Scale 5000 digital card and XPS256 power supply, to conduct advanced testing on digital ICs, catering to the exascale performance class. Notably, the EXA Scale system seamlessly integrates with ISE Labs’ current V93000 systems, load boards, and test instruments, facilitating a smooth transition to this newer generation while optimizing their test resources.

Jeff Thompson, Vice President of ISE Labs, highlighted the system’s significance in addressing the rigorous testing demands for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. Thompson emphasized the system’s capacity to accommodate the evolving complexities of chips and its capability to meet the distinct requirements of swiftly expanding markets.

The Pin Scale 5000 digital card and XPS256 power supply card boast 256 channels each, effectively doubling density within the V93000’s compact form factor. This advancement enables high-multisite configurations within smaller test heads, ultimately reducing infrastructure costs and floor space requirements. Leveraging Advantest’s Xtreme Link technology, the V93000 EXA Scale system ensures high-speed data connections, embedded computing power, and instant card-to-card communication.

Sanjeev Mohan, Senior Executive Officer at Advantest, highlighted the escalating data volumes and subsequent testing challenges in the semiconductor landscape. Mohan underscored how the V93000 EXA Scale was purpose-built to address these challenges, catering to the burgeoning demand for ICs designed to process vast amounts of data while addressing critical requirements such as scan-data, yield-learning, and multisite configurations. Mohan emphasized that this transition to EXA Scale expands their collaboration with ISE Labs, allowing the leveraging of proven production test capabilities for new markets.

The V93000, introduced in 2000, remains Advantest’s versatile and scalable flagship SoC test platform. Complemented by an array of V93000 options and complementary test instruments, the platform, inclusive of universal analog and digital test cards, RF instrumentation, mixed-signal cards, and user-friendly software, stands as a comprehensive solution within the semiconductor testing domain.
