GCT Semiconductor Holding, Inc. (“GCT”), a designer and supplier of semiconductor solutions for 5G and 4G technology, has announced the appointment of Nelson C. Chan to its Board of Directors, effective March 26, 2024.
John Schlaefer, the Chief Executive Officer of GCT Semiconductor, expressed satisfaction with Chan’s inclusion on the board, citing his extensive experience and understanding of 5G and AI technology. Schlaefer believes Chan’s leadership skills will be instrumental as GCT navigates its journey as a publicly listed company.
Chan brings a wealth of board experience to GCT Semiconductor. Currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Synaptics and holding positions on the boards of Deckers Outdoors and Twist Bioscience, Chan’s background aligns well with GCT’s strategic objectives. His previous roles at Adesto Technologies and Outerwall further underscore his capability in guiding companies towards growth and innovation.
In his statement, Chan expressed his honor at joining GCT Semiconductor’s board and his optimism about the company’s future. He highlighted the opportunities present in the growing 5G market and expressed confidence in GCT’s ability to capitalize on them.
Chan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
