California-based Flex Logix Technologies, Inc., strengthens its management team as it gears up for its next wave of growth. The new executives joining the company are Randy Allen (VP of Software/Softlogic), Cheng Wang (promoted to SVP and CTO), and Mike Schroeder (VP People).

“Today, our inference accelerators are successfully running customer models with superior throughput/$ and throughput/watt, while our embedded FPGA technology continues to be adopted by chip designers throughout the industry,” said Geoff Tate, Founder and CEO of Flex Logix. “By continuing to expand and add expertise to our management team, we can better take advantage of these successes and deliver the best software and hardware solutions to our customers.”

Cheng is the co-founder of Flex Logic. He previously was the SVP Software and Engineering and has received the Distinguished PhD Dissertation Award. He was also the 2014 ISSCC Lewis Winner Award for Outstanding Paper. In his new role, Cheng will lead the company’s technology direction while he continues to be a key driver of Flex Logix’s technology software, Softlogic and hardware.

Randy, on the other hand, will take over Cheng’s software responsibilities overseeing the inference software team, eFPGA software team and the Softlogic team as the company plans to double the size of these teams this year. Randy brings software management experience to Flex Logix, having managed development of successful products in EDA, embedded software and HPC. Dr. Allen was the first VP of Software at Cypress Semiconductor, served as Chief Architect at National Instruments, ran the Advanced Technology Group at Synopsys, and founded two companies focused on advanced compilation. Dr. Allen is co-author of the graduate level textbook “Optimizing Compilers for Modern Architectures.”

Mike, who will play a key role in helping the company reach its goal of more than doubling its workforce this year, brings over 25 years of experience to Flex Logix as a specialist in organizational development, talent acquisition, change management, coaching, and employee engagement at startups and global public corporations. He has proven success building, scaling, and leading top-performing global human resources and business organizations.
