Marktech Optoelectronics launches new Series 4 silicon photodiodes, which has triple the response speed (25ns vs. 80ns) compared to its current Series 4 PDs with the same active area.
With reduced junction capacitance (Cj), the new silicon photodiodes improves key performance metrics such as response time, frequency response and bandwidth. Due to low capacitance, it allows for faster response times by minimizing the time needed for change carriers to traverse the P-N junction. The advanced Si PDs are achieved through improved photodiode design configurations and our Series 4 silicon process technology enhancements.
Along with the standard version, Marktech offers an isolated version of these photodiodes. The isolated version utilizes a ceramic submount to insulate the detector chip from the metallic TO metal package, effectively reducing noise during detection. This makes the photodiodes particularly well-suited for environments where signal integrity is paramount.
The new high-speed photodiodes are indispensable in various cutting-edge applications, including cameras, video imaging systems, optical communication, biomedical imaging, security systems, night vision devices, gas sensing, and motion detection. Their ability to accurately convert light into electrical signals with minimal delay ensures superior performance in monitoring rapidly pulsed LED and laser light sources, spectroscopy, flame and gas monitors, motion and presence sensors, medical diagnostic devices, fluorometers, currency validators, automotive ADAS sensors, and more.
Marktech has unveiled its latest low-capacitance, high-speed silicon photodiodes, engineered to deliver enhanced response times and bandwidth for superior high-frequency operations. These photodiodes are ideal for applications that require rapid detection and precise signal processing. Notably, an isolated version with a ceramic submount is available, significantly reducing noise and ensuring high signal integrity in demanding environments.
These devices are highly versatile, suitable for a wide range of applications including optical communication, biomedical imaging, and motion detection. The MT03-084 features a 15mm² active area in an isolated hermetic TO-5 package with a UV-transmitting glass window, optimized for high sensitivity in the 300 to 560nm region, particularly for UVA, blue, and green light. Similarly, the MT03-083, also featuring a 15mm² active area and a UV-transmitting glass window, offers the same sensitivity range but without the isolating ceramic submount. Both models are now available and can be customized to meet specific application requirements.
