NEXCOM, a leading network solutions provider, CTOne, a global cybersecurity expert in communication technology, and Vertex, a professional system integrator of 5G private networks, have announced a collaboration aimed at advancing 5G private network security within semiconductor manufacturing sites. This proof of concept (POC) is designed to address the specific cybersecurity challenges common in Operational Technology (OT) networks, offering robust protection and seamless integration with minimal disruption to existing operations.
The joint initiative centers around NEXCOM’s TCA 5170, a 1U Edge server that delivers scalable performance and advanced cybersecurity features. The TCA 5170 enhances encryption and decryption processes, ensures authentication, and provides real-time threat detection, safeguarding private networks against evolving cyber threats. Its scalability makes it suitable for various deployment sizes, from smaller production lines to large semiconductor manufacturers, offering comprehensive security solutions tailored to diverse industrial needs.
CTOne’s virtualized private 5G security software, deployed on the TCA 5170 at strategic points within the semiconductor manufacturing site, integrates seamlessly across IT and communication technology networks. This integration facilitates full visibility with real-time data traffic monitoring, enabling IT teams to efficiently manage network security while optimizing resource utilization. Combined with CTOne’s 5G protection capabilities, the solution supports a Zero Trust strategy, allowing for immediate threat interception and isolation.
“This collaboration has been pivotal in delivering a comprehensive cybersecurity solution for semiconductor manufacturing sites,” said Ming-Yang Yi, Senior Manager of AMEA Business Development Group at CTOne. “By integrating our 5G visibility and security capabilities with NEXCOM’s TCA 5170, we’ve developed a solution that enhances data protection and optimizes the operational efficiency of private 5G networks.”
Willis Fu, Technical Director at Vertex, added, “Working with NEXCOM and CTOne has enabled us to deliver a comprehensive cybersecurity solution for private 5G networks. Combining NEXCOM’s TCA 5170 and CTOne’s Mobile Network Security solution ensures seamless protection of private 5G networks, providing our customers with confidence in their operations.”
Jennifer Lan, Sales & Marketing Director of Network & Communication Solutions at NEXCOM, highlighted the TCA 5170’s adaptability. “The TCA 5170 is a compact 1U server offering various configurations and scalable performance, allowing our ecosystem partners to easily adapt and deploy their applications. Our successful collaboration with CTOne and Vertex underscores our commitment to providing top-tier security and operational efficiency for our clients.”
