Supermicro’s New Next-Gen EdgeMax Redefines IoT Performance

Supermicro IoT and Edge Solutions

Supermicro, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), a provider of Total IT Solutions, launches a new generation of IoT and embedded systems aimed at bolstering performance and efficiency for intelligent applications at the remote edge. With a focus on accelerating IoT and edge AI workloads, Supermicro introduces cutting-edge embedded solutions powered by the latest Intel Atom x7000RE processor.

Charles Liang, President, and CEO of Supermicro, emphasizes the company’s commitment to expanding its system product line to meet the evolving demands of edge computing. The new generation of Supermicro systems is optimized for edge applications, catering to the growing need for high-performance computing in data-intensive environments.

The new Supermicro systems, including the SYS-E100, SYS-E102, SYS-E111AD, and updated SYS-E403, are designed to deliver increased performance and power efficiency. These systems leverage the latest Intel Atom and Intel Core CPUs, offering enhanced capabilities in compact form factors suitable for edge deployments.

The SYS-E100-14AM and SYS-E102-14AM feature the Intel Atom x7000RE processors with up to 8 cores, doubling the processing power of their predecessors. Both systems offer up to 16GB of DDR5-SODIMM, dual 2.5 GbE LAN ports, HDMI ports, USB 3.2 ports, and a M.2 B/E/M-key with a NANO SIM card slot, catering to diverse edge computing requirements.

Furthermore, the SYS-E100 and SYS-E102 servers come in ultra-compact form factors, with the SYS-E100 offering fanless operation and an extended temperature range of -20°C to up to 70°C. This feature makes it suitable for deployment in harsh industrial environments, offering improved resistance to dirt and dust.

In addition to these compact solutions, Supermicro introduces the 1U SYS-111AD-WRN2, designed for economical AI inferencing workloads at the edge. This system features a double-width, full-length GPU card or 3 PCIe expansion slots, catering to distributed applications such as video processing and robotics.

For demanding edge AI workloads, Supermicro presents the SYS-E403-13E platform, delivering data center-level performance at the edge. Equipped with a 5th/4th Gen Intel Xeon® Scalable processor and room for up to 3 accelerator cards, this platform offers up to 2TB of DDR5-5600 RAM and dual 10 GbE ports, ensuring seamless deployment in small spaces.
