Ommatidia LiDAR introduced its ANT LiDAR series at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, marking a significant leap in LiDAR technology. This innovative series, based on a massively parallel FCMW LiDAR sensor, is positioned as a versatile solution applicable across a broad range of industries.
The ANT LiDAR technology not only boasts unmatched precision but also offers scalability for high-volume markets. Employing advanced FMCW technology coupled with a “flood illumination technique,” it extends its range beyond 300 meters while maintaining stringent safety measures, which experts deem crucial for wider adoption in automotive applications.
Eduardo Margallo, CEO of Ommatidia LiDAR, expressed confidence in the ANT Series’ ability to redefine LiDAR’s capabilities in commercial settings. “Our miniaturized 2048 parallel channel LiDAR brings exceptional resolution, capturing intricate environmental details,” said Margallo.
Grégory Pandraud, Vice President of Research, highlighted the ANT series’ potential impact on industries reliant on precise spatial data. He emphasized the scalability of their production process, ensuring quality despite meeting large volume demands. The ANT series particularly shines in object classification, presenting significant value for autonomous vehicles and smart city applications.
