Aspinity, a leader in low-power computation technology, has announced the appointment of Richard Hegberg as its Chief Executive Officer. Richard, a seasoned veteran in the semiconductor industry, joins Aspinity with a wealth of experience in leadership roles across prominent companies such as Vesper Mems, NetApp, SanDisk, Qualcomm, and AMD.

 

Richard’s arrival marks a strategic move for Aspinity as it prepares to advance the production of its AML100 processor. His proven track record in guiding companies through growth periods and transitions positions him to lead Aspinity into its next phase of development.

 

Speaking about his new role, Richard highlighted Aspinity’s technology and IP portfolio, emphasizing the unique sensing capabilities at near-zero power consumption, particularly through the analog ML processor. He emphasized the transformative nature of Aspinity’s all-analog neural processing core (RAMP) across various sectors, from automotive and IoT to security and data centers.

 

Aspinity’s technology holds potential in automotive sensing, dash cams, Industrial IoT, and Edge AI applications. Notably, the company’s solutions showcase the ability to discern critical security and monitoring events while operating at remarkably low power consumption levels, promising advancements in surveillance systems and AI-driven dash cams.

 

Tom Doyle, Aspinity’s Co-founder and former CEO, will transition into the role of Chief Operating Officer while continuing to provide support to the company’s growth as a board member. Doyle expressed confidence in Richard’s ability to drive Aspinity’s growth, acknowledging his track record in scaling companies with innovative technologies.

 

Richard’s appointment signifies a strategic step for Aspinity as it aims to leverage his expertise to further establish itself as a leader in low-power computation and analog ML/AI processing.
