This new offering blends the advanced imaging capabilities of Sony’s full-frame Alpha and Cinema Line series with the compact design philosophy of the α6000 series, presenting Sony’s most sophisticated APS-C mirrorless camera yet.
At its core, the α6700 houses a 26.0 effective megapixel APS-C back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, harmonized with Sony’s advanced BIONZ XR processing engine. This amalgamation delivers exceptional imaging performance while upholding a compact and lightweight structure. The camera offers support for high-resolution 4K video recording at up to 120fps and boasts an extensive dynamic range of 14+ stops, ensuring detailed capture even in challenging lighting conditions. The α6700 stands out with its AI-driven Real-Time Recognition AF, capable of identifying various subjects like humans, animals, birds, insects, vehicles, and aircraft. It maintains compatibility with a wide range of E-mount lenses, ensuring seamless integration with full-frame and Cinema Line cameras through a single mount.
In the realm of video capabilities, the camera harnesses data equivalent to 6K to produce superior 4K video output, enabling high-frame-rate recording at 4K 120fps. Equipped with S-Log3 and S-Cinetone, it delivers exceptional gradation and impressive skin tone depiction. Further, the camera includes an AI-driven Auto-Framing feature for smooth subject tracking and a Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe designed for digital audio interfaces.
Designed for mobility and user-friendliness, the α6700 boasts a compact and lightweight form factor. Its touch-operable vari-angle LCD monitor, modern touch menu, customizable front dial, and switching dial for various modes contribute to its ease of use. Additionally, it integrates an optical 5-axis in-body image stabilization system for stills and an Active Mode to ensure stable footage.
Sony also emphasizes environmental consciousness by integrating recycled materials into the camera body, reducing environmental impact without compromising functionality. The camera incorporates accessibility features like the Screen Reader function to aid a diverse range of creators in their creative activities.
