Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) has introduced a new configurable power supply designed to revolutionize power conversion efficiency. The NP08, the first member of the NeoPower (NP) family, promises optimized power conversion tailored to specific applications in a notably compact form.

This power supply is highlighted for its impressive power density, offering up to four times more power density than traditional solutions. With eight output power slots, the NP08 facilitates rapid and flexible configuration while boasting a power density of 18 W/in3. Capable of delivering up to 4,000 W, it also features integrated communication capabilities supporting various digital protocols, eliminating the need for design alterations.

María Cortez, Senior Vice President for Industrial Power Products at Advanced Energy, emphasized the company’s extensive portfolio of configurable solutions, stating, “AE is the market leader in configurable power supplies.” Cortez highlighted the NeoPower line’s combination of high-efficiency server power supply design and extensive experience in configurables, aiming to develop high-density power conversion systems tailored precisely to demanding applications.

The NP08 is designed for easy configuration in series and parallel implementations and offers both voltage and current source programming. It complies with rigorous industry standards, including the medical BF safety rating and the SEMI F47 standard for voltage sag immunity.

Boasting AC inputs ranging from 90 to 264 VAC, the NP08 offers connectivity options through Advanced Energy’s ConnectedPower portfolio, supporting protocols such as RS-485 (MODBUS RTU), PMBUS, and CANBUS (CANOPEN), making it suitable for IoT applications requiring cloud-based monitoring and control.
